Hope Alive Initiative launches grassroots campaign for Tinubu's re-election ahead of 2027 polls
The Hope Alive Initiative has kicked off its campaign for President Tinubu's re-election, leveraging multiple platforms.

As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 presidential election, the Hope Alive Initiative (HAI), a political support group for President Bola Tinubu, has officially launched its grassroots campaign aimed at securing his re-election. This initiative comes on the heels of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lifting the ban on political campaigns, allowing parties to commence their activities starting August 19.
The HAI's campaign strategy is designed to engage citizens through a combination of street-level mobilization and the use of both traditional and digital media platforms. This multi-faceted approach aims to build a strong base of support for Tinubu, who is seeking a second term in office. The group emphasizes that their endorsement of the president is based on his administration's structural reforms, which they believe are vital for Nigeria's long-term economic stability and growth.
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), clarified the party's position regarding the campaign timeline. He stated that while August 19 marks the official start of campaigns, there is no legal obligation for parties to launch their rallies immediately. Morka noted that the APC is still finalizing its comprehensive campaign strategy after consultations with key stakeholders.
The HAI has outlined several key components for its campaign rollout, which begins on the official campaign date. Among the activities planned is the deployment of approximately 40 colorfully dressed mascots to high-traffic areas in Abuja, aimed at creating a vibrant visual presence. Additionally, the group will initiate a city-wide SMS campaign to directly reach Abuja residents, alongside a catchy campaign jingle to enhance public engagement.
To further connect with the grassroots, HAI plans to utilize radio broadcasts to simplify and communicate government policies and achievements to the public. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to foster understanding and support for the government's efforts in various sectors, including petroleum, education, and infrastructure.
The HAI's campaign is set to mark the beginning of an intensive effort to mobilize support and build momentum as Nigeria enters the 2027 electoral cycle. The organization believes that, despite the short-term challenges posed by the reforms, they are necessary steps towards a more sustainable and prosperous Nigeria. The Hope Alive Initiative's proactive approach reflects a commitment to engaging citizens and ensuring that the administration's accomplishments are recognized and supported as the election approaches.
