NDLEA denies claims of drug bunker at Taraba Nursing College
The NDLEA has discredited social media reports of a drug bunker at the college.

The Taraba State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has officially refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the discovery of a suspected drug bunker at the Taraba State College of Nursing Sciences in Jalingo. The agency's Public Relations Officer, Mawoh Paul Voloh, issued a statement on Tuesday clarifying that no operation was conducted at the college or its surroundings.
This clarification comes in response to a publication that suggested the NDLEA had uncovered a drug bunker within the college premises. The agency emphasized that it had neither issued any statements nor carried out any operations related to the alleged discovery. The NDLEA stated, "The photographs and narrative being circulated online should not be attributed to the NDLEA Taraba Command. It has no official record of such an operation or report."
The agency further explained that its ongoing anti-drug operations across Taraba State fall under the initiative known as Operation Restore Order. This operation is designed to identify, disrupt, and dismantle illicit drug activities and trafficking networks.
In its statement, the NDLEA cautioned the public about the reliability of information shared on social media, urging individuals and media outlets to verify facts with the appropriate authorities before disseminating reports related to its operations. The agency expressed concern that misleading information could unjustly tarnish the reputation of the college, its management, staff, and students, associating them with illicit drug activities.
The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking, emphasizing the importance of protecting communities, particularly the youth, from the dangers posed by illegal drugs. The agency's ongoing efforts aim to foster a safer environment free from the threats of drug-related crime and addiction.
