He commended police personnel who often spend long hours away from their families in the line of duty while remaining committed to their parental responsibilities and serving as role models within their homes and communities.
"The sacrifices made by officers who continue to serve the nation while fulfilling their duties as fathers deserve recognition and appreciation," he said.
As Nigerians mark this year's Father's Day, Disu wished fathers across the country good health, strength, wisdom, and fulfilment.
He urged citizens to honour and appreciate the sacrifices, commitment, and enduring influence of fathers, noting that their efforts contribute immensely to building a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation.
The Inspector-General reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting lives and property, strengthening community partnerships, and supporting initiatives that promote family values, social cohesion, and national development.
Father's Day is observed annually to celebrate the role of fathers and father figures in families and society, recognising their contributions to the upbringing and welfare of children.
