Speaking, residents called on the Ogun Waterside Local Government to construct efficient drainage system within and around Ode-Omi Town.

"We are calling on the Ogun Waterside Local Government to come to our aid and help us construct efficient drainage system within Ode-Omi Town," a cross section of residents appealed.

The downpour comes just days after the Lenuwa Palace urged the community to prioritise development projects that would benefit residents directly.

As of Sunday morning, further checks revealed that the rain had subsided but pools of water remained in several compounds.

No casualties were reported, but residents are calling on Ogun Waterside Local Government and relevant agencies to address drainage and flooding issues before the peak of the rainy season.
