Media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown has revealed why she left Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC).

Afolabi-Brown made the disclosure during an interview with Bolaji Idowu, the lead pastor of the church.

She explained that she was once an active member of Harvesters International and served as the head usher before deciding to leave.

According to the TV host, she was in a relationship with a fellow minister in the church, and both of them were heavily involved in church activities. However, things changed after the relationship ended.

She said continuing to serve in the same environment became difficult following the breakup.

The broadcaster also disclosed that Pastor Bolaji tried to intervene and encouraged both of them to remain in the church, but she felt it would be uncomfortable for them to continue serving together.

"You people don't know that my very first church in Nigeria was Harvesters International and I was the head usher in that church. And I left because of man," she said.

"So, what happened was that I was dating a minister in HICC. Both of us were really close and then he broke up with me. And then Pastor Bolaji was trying to get us to stay.

"How can two ministers be in ministers' meeting and we have broken up? I said, 'Ko le shele'.

"Pastor Bolaji begged me, that don't go and I left. That was the reason why I left."

Morayo Afolabi-Brown is the only daughter of Alao Aka-Bashorun, the late president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

She previously served as deputy director of programmes at TVC News and is widely known as the host of the breakfast programme, Your View.

She is married to Femi Afolabi-Brown, a lawyer, and they have four children.
